AMÉRICA DEL SUR HOSTEL CALAFATE | TOURS
Daily departures at 9 AM and 4 PM
Duration: 4 hours
This half-day tour is perfect for those who love flora, fauna, and photography. During the Safari, you will visit unique areas in Argentina, such as one of the most important fossil crab deposits in the world, an oyster reef, and formations containing remains of prehistoric mammals with an approximate age of 15 million years. In this activity, you’ll also see native animals of the region, such as guanacos, condors, and foxes, to name a few. The tour begins by picking you up at the hostel and driving to the private nature reserve “Estancia 25 de Mayo.”
The route follows the course of El Calafate Creek, gaining altitude and approaching a striking panoramic view of the Baguales and Centinela mountains, which are summits that mark the frontier border with Chile. On the way back to the ravine, we’ll stop at a traditional country restaurant to savor a rich stew, accompanied by fresh bread and local cheese, just as the gauchos would have done.
The activity ends with hostel drop-off.
